The first training session of was organised on Sat. 26th
December 2009 at M.K.Nakhawa High School, Thane. It was attended by over
55 students from various colleges in and around Thane. The session was
conducted by PP Rtn. Sudhir Sathe, a knowledgeable authority on this
subject from our Dist. 3140.
He explained the concept behind MUNA and narrated the working of United Nations. He then asked the students to form a group of three and choose their own country that they want to represent. There were total 21 students who finalised 7 countries.They were then asked to decide about the issues that they want to discuss from a global perspective. There was a lot of debate and finally Global Warming and Terrorism were finalised. The students were asked to come prepared for next training session with the resolutions that they want propose. Refer to Country-List-2009-10.pdf document for the total list of countries. The training helped the students and Rotarians to understand this program and has kindled a spark in them. The students are now fully charged and we hope to have a larger participation and interesting debates on D-day. |
