Computer Learning

The technology centers at the Roslindale and Archdale Centers are state of the art labs that afford all ages the ability to learn and progress in the computer medium.  Windows Vista and Microsoft Office 2007 are available at both centers.  We also offer specific learning programs for youth that includes "object oriented" programming, music composition using "Hyperscore," homework assistance, and more.

Some computer access time is included in after school programs.  Additional open youth access times and courses for adults as well as open access time are outlined below.

  Friday  :  6:00 PM to 8:00 PM
  Saturday:  2:00 PM to 4:45 PM

 Adult Programming


The technology centers at the community centers offer beginner and advanced instruction in how to use computers as well as learning how to work with the online medium.  Programs usually run for 8 weeks and then are repeated. 

If you miss the current session you can sign-up for the next one.

Discounts available for some classes when presenting a valid R.A.F.T. membership.

Introduction to Computers - Part 1
Starting Sept. 16
For beginners. learn to feel comfortable using a computer, word processing, Internet, E-mail, and more.
Wednesdays:  12:30 PM to 2:00 PM - at Roslindale

Introduction to Computers - Part 2
Starting Sept 17.
Basic computer skills needed to take this course.
Microsoft Word, more Internet and E-mail, creating folders, customizing the Windows Desktop, digital pictures, and learning how to make a CD.
Thursdays:  6:00 PM to 7:30 PM - at Roslindale

Introduction ro Excel and Power Point

Starting Sept 17
Basic computer skills needed to take this course.
Learn the basics of Excel and spreadsheets and Power Point presentation software.
