A warm welcome, Abruzzo's style

Welcome to my page, offering rooms for holiday lettings in the beautiful town of Sulmona, in Abruzzo, Italy. If you have never heard of Sulmona, well, browsing my site is a good start. I'll do my best to introduce you to my town of birth and my region.

Sulmona is set in the Peligna Valley in one of the greenest regions in Europe, Abruzzo. The region has the second largest national park in Italy (Parco Nazionale d'Abruzzo), as well as Parco Nazionale del Gran Sasso e Monti della Laga, Parco Nazionale della Majella (closest to Sulmona) and Parco Regionale Sirente Velino. More information can be found at: (http://www.regione.abruzzo.it/turismo/parchi/parchi.htm).

There are many reasons to visit Sulmona. The town is an architectural gem, surrounded by beautiful mountains, with special events all year around. Famous events in Sulmona include some spectacular Easter's celebrations (unique in Italy if not the world, in fact: Madonna che scappa in Piazza), medieval joustings (La Giostra Cavalleresca in the summer) and a number of other events throughout the year. I can't mention Sulmona and forget to tell you about its world renowed 'confetti' (Confetti Pelino being especially appreciated by Selfridge's customers).

Italian cuisine, beloved around the globe, takes a foodie's twist in Abruzzo. The Abruzzesi are renowed for their passion for food and their above-average portions. This is not a place for diets to be started... don't say I didn't warn you, alright?
On a foodie's note, please don't forget to try homemade yummie 'spaghetti alla chitarra.' You'll thank me for this tip.

I have an apartment in Sulmona, available for holiday lets. The rooms are available all year around, no black-out periods. The apartment sleeps 4, with a double bed and a sofa bed;  full use of kitchen and bathroom, TV, central heating and within 15 min walk from the city centre.
