Beliefs and ideas about women are unique in different parts of the world.
This website will show different societal views of women based on cultures, locations, and historical time periods. We will explore the roles of women in different cultures through art, history, and literature: 1) We will analyze images of women in art in order to gain a better understanding of the culture and time period. 2) We will explore factual and historical evidence of socially accepted norms for women in each culture. 3) We will read fictional and factual texts in the form of memoirs, novels, and poems in order to better understand a culture's idea of women.
