Left to right from the top: Hallicrafters S-38 Receiver Heathkit SW-717 Receiver Small Wonder Labs PSK-20 Icom IC-228H 2-meter rig Elecraft K-1 and OHR wattmeter Transel wattmeter - some MFJ items-an antenna tuner and a CW filter IBM 760ED Thinkpad computer Kenwood TS-570D HF rig Bencher paddle Antennas include a six-band Butternut Vertical and about four dipoles cut to various bands. Also a short indoor longwire for the shortwave receivers. |
I enjoy the K-1 QRP (low power) rig the most. In addition to CW, I like to operate PSK-31 and SSTV. Also a smattering of SSB at times. My awards include DXCC ( for contacting 100 countries, my total is almost 200), WAS (Worked All States), and WAC (Worked All Continents). I also have a "1,000 Miles per Watt" certificate and the ARRL's Code Proficiency award. |
