Jess and Rod's September 2008 Wedding
Rod and I have been friends since fall of 2005 and started dating in January of 2006. Our relationship has been fairly short
in comparison to most, but we figure when you've found your other half why not go ahead and start your new life together!
Rod and I got engaged on St. Patrick's Day 2007! We got up fairly early that Saturday and he made breakfast before we headed over to the observation deck of the Soldiers and Sailors Monument in downtown Indy. Rod proposed at the top and I promptly said yes! We made a day out of it with lunch at Palomino and watched the Butler game. A perfect day!
If you've never been and you're in the area I'd highly recommend it! You can see how tiny our downtown is and see quite far!
I'd recommend going on a chilly day as it gets quite warm up there with the sun streaming in.
As with all Knottie bios, if you see anything in these pictures that is yours please let me know and I'll credit you. Thanks!

Pictures from my first fitting!

Picture highlighting where I still need to lose a little weight (ugh)

The bodice is being altered a bit and I need to get tanning!

A view of the dress, the front is going to be fitted differently through the chest to eliminate the "chub"

I'm really intently staring at the seamstress!

The bustle has 8 points where it's tied together

Another bustle pic

I'll be wearing this with a hoop skirt with the smallest hoop in the largest hole to ensure I'm nice and cool that day.

My Shoe Inspiration from knottie ilovemycoastie3
I fell in love with these before I had a dress and this is something that is mostly just for me!

I finally found the Nine West "Jojus" d'orsay pumps and am looking for shoe jewels to adorn them!

Here's the jeweled clips I've purchased for the wedding day, I'm really happy with these!

Here's the shoes with the jeweled clips on them - perfect!

Here's the shoes with crystals on the bottoms for our initials.

My "Something Blue" Ring purchased on Overstock.com

The side view, it's Blue Topaz with a silver band. I fell in love with a blue ring and am so excited for this one!

My necklace and earrings for the day found on ebay.

| Ceremony Location - Indiana State Museum
|
| Anne has been a delight to work with so far, she's very prompt at answering my questions and very welcoming.
|
| |
| Officiant - Rod's Uncle Rick
|
| We're very excited about this as we love that it's a member of Rod's family who is going to marry us! Because we're going with family we're able to write our own ceremony and also be able to make sure that we can write our own vows.
|
| |
| Reception Location - Indiana State Museum
|
| This is the same as the ceremony location, it's going to be beautiful!
|
| |
| Caterers - Crystal Catering
|
| This is the only caterer allowed for our site. Kelly has been a delight to work with so far and has been so accommodating for all of our dietary special needs.
|
| |
| Florist - Baysore's Flower Shop
|
| This is my "aunt" Cathy's floral shop. I'm really glad to have her doing the flowers for our wedding as she's amazing!
|
| |
| Photographer - Hostetler Photography
|
| We met with Buffy and instantly LOVED her! She's been so easy to work with up until this point. I was very happy with the quality of our engagement session and can't wait for the wedding photos!
|
| |
| Musicians - Larry Kinley
|
| Larry is a friend of the family from Cincinnati. He is going to be putting together a small band for the night to give it a truly unique atmosphere. Instead of doing a DJ we wanted something that would set our event apart and make it less like traditional weddings. We're hoping for a lounge/vintage feel for the music with a quartet + vocalist.
|
| |
| Invitations - Cards & Pockets
|
| We ordered pocketfolds and card stock through Cards & Pockets and designed them ourselves. Cards & Pockets has been a dream to work with, everything arrives in perfect condition and quickly ships.
|
| |
| Jeweler - Reis Nichols
|
| This is where Rod got my e-ring and where we purchased our wedding bands from. Fran was really easy for him to work with on the engagement ring and she was so friendly. For the wedding bands we worked with Carrie and she was very helpful, even getting us a discount on my band by tipping us off to an upcoming sale! We used the one in Greenwood as it's easier to get to from downtown.
|
| |
| Tuxedos - Mens Wearhouse
|
| We were very happy with the service we recieved as we are purchasing Rod's tux and renting the others.
|
| |
| My Dress - Brides Against Breast Cancer
|
| I had a great experience at this traveling Bridal Gown sale. I ended up with a brand new Maggie Sottero Haute Couture line "Cleo" gown and a beautiful veil to match! I highly recommend checking this out as all the proceeds go to charity!
|
| |
| Bridesmaid Dresses - Alfred Angelo
|
| Since we're scattered I figured it would be easier to have the bridesmaids each pick their own dress and just have the same color.
|
| |
| Hair Stylist - Ron Spears
|
| Ron is a great hairstylist who has done all of my hair for high school dances/proms. He's coming in to town to do my bridesmaids if they want it and to do my hair also. He's really a great stylist!
|
| |
| Makeup Artist - Dawn Hiers
|
| Dawn is a good friend of my mom's who owns her own salon (Bloom Savannah) in Savannah, GA. She's traveling up to make my bridesmaids and me look beautiful for the big day!

| Wedding Coordinator - April of Blu Sky Designs
|
| I'm so excited to support a fellow Knottie! Her wedding was beautiful and I'm so excited to have a day of coordinator who has glowing reviews.
