Most of the class travelled to Los Alamos for testing and workouts on September 10th. It was fun and everyone did very well. Special congratulations to Joel and Ethan who were promoted to 1st degree black belt!

We are in the final days of sign-ups for Summer Black Belt Camp 2011! Sign-ups close May 31st. Please help get the word out to all instructors and students. Camp is certain to be another outstanding Tae Kwon Do experience! This is the single largest event bringing Chung Do Kwan black belts together from across the country.

With a very heavy heart, we share the news that Grandmaster Duk Sung Son passed away this morning in Rhode Island. Grandmaster Son profoundly influenced the lives of thousands, and through many of his students, the lives of thousands more. His leadership, energy, and demanding discipline gave us something to aspire to.

Instructors from five classes and their students gathered for an afternoon of excellent exercise followed by color belt testing. It was a great time followed by a wonderful dinner at Deli Cioso in Longmont. Congratulations to all the test-takers! And thank you to our host, Jim Goldsmith, for organizing the event.

Six members of Rocky Mountain Chung Do Kwan plus family traveled to the annual test event in Los Alamos on 11 September 2010. 100 Tae Kwon Doists participated in the day's events which saw promotions from yellow belt through 6th Dan. Our own Victoria, Sophia, and Ryan were promoted to brown, brown, and purple belts respectively. In the afternoon we had a great workout followed by a very nice evening at De Colores Restaurant. Many thanks to Master Ron Geoffrion and the other Masters!

We travelled to South Carolina for the first USATMA tournament. It was a well-run, safe, and very traditional event with some excellent competitors. Five students from RMCDK participated and we're proud to say each earned a trophy in forms and sparring in some very close matches!
