A brief history

Rockbottom Productions is entering its fourth year, after its first production "The Ball from Outer Space" by Harrison Smith and John Zamer in 2003.  The group was expanded when Derek Beck skipped class and ventured into the school cafeteria, which was temporarily used to film "Fries", Rockbottom's second movie. Rockbottom's fourth member, Trevor, was frequently denied access to the set.  He somehow became one of the most prominent faces in the RBP shorts.

Comedies continue to be the most frequent genre, but RBP has also released several action and dramatic short films.  Bayou City Free Flow remains the only documentary to date.

Rockbottom Productions stands for creating short films that are creative, hilarious, compelling, and above all, original.

Neko Neko Productions

What a Novel Idea!

During the summer of 2005, Derek and Harrison went to Colorado, and made Jaunt Cab.  This little movie in the mountains of Pagosa Springs was the birth of Neko Neko Productions.

"Neko Neko" (pronounced "neeko neeko"), is an Indonesian slang term meaning "a novel idea that only makes things worse".  We use it, however, to describe the short films made solely by Harrison Smith and Derek Beck.

We like the name, though, and are making the slow process of changing all of Rockbottom Productions into Neko Neko Productions.

The partially disassembled  rubix cube represents Neko Neko because it is the ultimate "neko neko" idea.  It always seems like a great idea to take off the stickers, and put them back on in the right way.  It never works out, however, when stickers are inevitably lost or ripped.
