I am from the nights of staying up all night
In my forts made with blankets and chairs
Riding the white and pink barbie jeep up and down the neighborhood roads
Spending all day in my neighbors willow tree
And not going home until dark

I am from spending all day on the trampoline
With the sprinkler underneath, to cool off on a hot summers day
I am from playing football in the front yard
Until there was no white left on our clothes

I am from the listening to my grandpa's stories
Of places here and there
Stories that would make you smile and leave a warm feeling inside

I am from the many Christmases of getting together
Eating some of this and that
But always leaving room for the many desserts
I am from waiting up all night to see my relatives Christmas morning

I am from the "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all"
And "Don't make me wash your mouth out with soap"

I am from the days of going out and starting my grandma's car
Until I drove into the fence

I am from the all-nighters playing games
Or the staying in and sleeping
I am from the never say can't and never give up
Because one day you will achieve great things
