Susan Briscoe Sashiko and Bag Workshop

There are still places available for Susan’s workshop on Sunday, September 20th.  Cost for the workshop will be £20 and the day will run from 10am - 4pm at the Crescent School.  Susan will be teaching the beautiful handwork of Japanese Sashiko.  After hand stitching your panels, Susan will then show you how to make it into a bag.  Susan’s interest in quilting started 1992 when she was living in Japan and she is the author of 8 books covering both Sashiko and bag making.  Further information about Susan and her beautiful array of work can be found on her website  www.susanbriscoe.co.uk

Gail Lawther - Stain Glass Workshop

We will be taking names and deposits at the next meeting for Gail Lawther’s workshop on Sunday, November 22nd.  Cost for the workshop will be £20 and the day will run from 10am - 4pm at the Crescent School.  Gail’s signature quilting style is stain glass and during the workshop Gail will be teaching her technique giving you helpful hints along the way.  Gail has written several books and patterns on the subject and further information can be found on her website Gail-Quilts-Plus.co.uk

Workshops for 2010

This year was the first year that Rocheberie held workshops on a Sunday.  We are just in the process of finalising our schedule for 2010 and would like to get some feedback as to whether or not you would like more Sunday workshops in the future.   We are trying to gauge whether or not you have liked what has been on offer and whether it being on a Sunday following a meeting has made it easier or more difficult to attend.  Please let a member of the committee know your views.  Your support and opinions are important.

Demonstration Tables
We are always looking for volunteers to share some of their talent with the group. Perhaps you know a new technique or small project idea that would be ideal. You will have free entry for the day and also £5 as a thank you for your time. If you can help, please contact Lynda at 01455 556498 or lynda@hillfamily39.fsnet.co.uk

Sales Table
Running out of cash for that next big project? Why not bring any unwanted craft items in new or good condition to sell at our regular sales table. Each item needs to have the price and your initials on a pinned or paper clipped piece of paper on the front of the item so the label can be removed by the committee member when the item is sold. Don't forget to collect your cash and any unsold items before you leave. Rocheberie Quilters will retain 10% of the cost of each item sold to boost our funds. You may bring back items to sell to the next meeting but we are not able to store items for you.

Recycling Quilting Magazines
You can donate your unwanted quilting magazines to the group without having to collect them at the end of the day. We have a "magazine box" which members can flip through. Magazines will be sold with donations being collected in an honesty box. Unsold magazines will be kept and brought to the next meeting by a committee member.

Bring Your Own Mug
If you don't want to add to this country's mountain of plastic waste why not bring your own mug along to meetings - we will be happy to fill your favourite mug with tea and coffe
e for free during the day.

Show and Tell
Don't forget to bring your items for Show and Tell and attach your name with a safety pin before handing it in.

Please note that if your show and tell is delicate or precious, please keep hold of it so that you can hold it up during Show and Tell.
