This site is about free gaming. Many interesting games will be tested and reviewed for you. Reviews come with commented screenshots to get you an idea of the atmosphere of the game. If a game is listed here, then it is a good game worth being played. Whether they are Open Sources, flash, free (to donate), with download or browser based, abandonwares or in still Beta, you will  find here the game(s) that will suit you and which will keep you busy many of your nights summer like winter. Free gaming is constantly evolving and fast so come back often to check what I got for you. Game of the month:  SAUERBRATEN (cube II)

The 2 life packs are only a few meters away... on the other side of the cliff. The explosion of a rocket nearby makes you loose more of life point. It could have been a direct shot and you would have been dead, but in your misericorde, luck is on your side. The next projectile wont miss you..."They are good" you think. "But I am not dead yet, and I am loaded of ammo". You take your breath and jump above the void. "Will I be too short?". A second rocket misses you and continue its trajectory untill it reaches a distant wall. The explosion has no effect on you this time. Your feet touch the ground on the other side, and you grab the two life packs. Your life level climbs from 10 to 75. Not enough, but better than nothing. You quickly swap weapon to take your sniper gun, turn yourself toward the enemy far away, aim, and shoot. Bang! The high velocity bullet tears the air, leaving a trace of white smoke perfectly straight, and hit the head of your first enemy. Perfect headshot. The second enemy hides behind a wall. "He cannot see me now", time to run and take a new position, higher. The enemy  pops out of his hide, but you are not there anymore. You are above him now, and he is looking below. You swap weapons again. Rocket launcher...You fire, one then an other projectile. The first rocket hits its target, but do not kill your enemy completely. The second one misses but the blast of the impact pushes the ugly troll  in the void. 1 more kill on your board plus a suicide...All this action lasted less than 5 seconds, but this is exactly what happens when you play Sauerbraten. Time streches when it gets hot for you.

Sauerbraten is a fast and fun multiplayer FPS, not focused on eye candies effects (although the game engine has been seriously upgraded compared to Cube I) but on pure action and on an original multiplayer map editing feature. 5 weapons only, ammunition and life packs can be found while playing (depending the mode you are playing), as well as other items like green potion bottles which add +10 to your vitality, as well as the mysterious "quad" items which multiply the blast effect of your weapons, throwing the  body of your dead enemies in the air like rag dolls. Some maps have "teleport gate", you can see one in blue on the picture above, which sometime save your life by sending you far from a combat zone in a second...unless the enemy follows you, of course. There are not many maps but the official maps are well built, and designed smartly to improve the fun. The engine supporting the game is opens ource and one of its interesting feature is to allow the player to modify a map and the emplacement of the items spreaded accross it. No need to say, as pure gamer, I have not looked deeper into that yet, but I may do it, one day.

This is an other screenshot taken on the same map, and you can see an ugly enemy running to you. He is ugly enough to be killed by you, and he usually has the same thought when he sees you. You have the possibility to create teams, and you will see your mate with a different color. But usually, the game is played as free for all, and everybody is shooting at all what moves around in a happy anarchy, perfect for relaxing after a long day at work. I have not said everything about this game in this review. The gameplay is quick lots of running in corridor,bouncing and high jumping from platform to platform, surprise attacks and fast shooting. Therefore, I prefer to play it, honestly, but I do hope that after reading this review, you will try it, it will keep you busy for some time.Sauerbraten will be easy to integrate in your daily gaming routine. It is a free to play, free to download game, no trick or trap (otherwise it would not be in this website). The only minus I have found about this game is that sometimes, you come online and there is nobody. A few servers only are up, and the same map is on. If you are lucky, you will play other maps that are great too. If you play, play it in the evening, if you see nobody, just load a map, and you won't wait long to see an other player coming, and then more will come a few minutes later. On small maps, two players are enough to have fun, more becomes a total slaughtery. I will post more screenshots ( taken by myself) of Sauerbraten soon so that you will be able to make yourself an idea of the environment, semi medieval, semi futuristic of the different arenas. In the mean time, I invite you to check the official website where you will find more info and the download section.
