About the Dance Department
The Revere Dance Department believes that students are able to become well-rounded performers through a diverse background in Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Tap, Multi-Cultural Dance, Hip Hop, Breakdancing and Choreography. Our curriculum encourages the use of critical and creative thinking skills, self expression, and problem-solving to communicate and inspire arts making. Our program enriches each student's academic curriculum through exploration and research of various cultural, historical and anthropological facts. Students understand the relationship between dance, daily life and history. The Dance Department also believes it promotes healthy habits and well being by drawing a connection between dance and healthy lifestyles.
Students who are in the Beginning Dance, Dance 7/8th Grade, Breakdancing 7/8th Grade and Intermediate/Advanced Dance Classes have the opportunity to perform in the International Festival, Fine Arts Night, Fall for Dance Concert, Spring Fling as well as other performances and festivals located at Paul Revere Middle School.
The Revere Revelations Dance Company is the official representative of the Revere Dance Department in dance performances, outreach programs, sport activities, festivals and other off campus performances. Members of the Revere Revelations Dance Company are selected by audition based on dance ability, discipline and a positive work ethic within the school community.
The Dance Company has been featured on Channel 13 as part of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, the Houston Aeros Game as well as other events.
