When students are good readers they also become creative writers.
Things to work on at home.
Sight words printable sight words (this site will link you to other useful tools for parents, but under the reading area you can print sight word cards) Have your child look at a picture and write about it, remembering the 5 w's (who, what, where, why, and when). Have your child be creative on their own and make up a story, starting with Once upon a time.. (you'll be amazed on the story that they came up with). :)

Just as long as they are sound like the word. (ex. the word because is spelled becuz) Don't forget...
By the end of kindergarten you child should be able to produce at least 1 complete sentence. In first grade your child should be able to write at least 4 sentences on the same topic, making a paragraph.

It is ok for the words to NOT be spelled correctly. :)
