Organizing a Successful Golf Event
The what, when, where, how and why explanations
Organizing and managing a golf tournament whether it be for fun or in an effort to raise money can be a daunting task for the non-golfer. Even the most veteran event organizer can use some fresh ideas to ponder. With that in mind, I've put together a step-by-step template to help ease that stress.
Preface
The purpose of this manual is to provide a detailed step-by-step accounting of who, what, where, when, why, and how so as to maintain the developed standards and high level of excellence for "insert name" Golf Tournament.
In coordination with the Club President and or Club Administrator, this manual will guide you through the process from start to finish.
Laying the foundation for any successful event starts from the beginning and builds upon itself as the process flows towards completion. Throughout this guide there will be definitive items that must be accomplished and these will be labeled “success points” or milestones. In this guide, there are twelve of these goals. These success points should be used as reminders and become part of the Timeline you will be creating.
