Robert Monaco hails from Long Island.
He has been designing scenery in the greater metropolitan area for more than ten years,
Robert was nominated for a 2007 Independent Theater Award for his design for “The Palooka” and he received an
excellence in design award from the NYC Fringe Festival in 2006 for “Kiss and Cry".
Robert’s undergraduate studies were at Suffolk County Community College
where he earned an Associates Degree in theater and at
Rutgers University where he received a BFA in Scenic Design.
Robert's Post Graduate Degree terminated in an MFA in Design for Theater and Film from
NYU, Tisch School of the Arts.
In addition to working as a professional designer
Robert has taught Scenic Art at Ramapo college of NJ
and held a faculty design position for five years at Suffolk County Community College.
Currently Robert is an adjunct faculty member at Marymount Manhattan College where he designs scenery and instructs in scenic carpentry and scenic art techniques.
