The Real RJ
I am Richard James R. but I normally go by RJ. However if you are an ancient history nut, like me, I wouldn't mind you calling me Richard Geraldson after my dad Gerald R. My first name was given to me by my mom in honor of her best friend Richard who had died of cancer just a few years earlier and no one ever really explained how my middle name was chosen. I was born in Santa Monica Hospital on the same day as my new best buddy Ray C. What makes me special is the way I think because I am extremely magnificent at math and science. I also love to write (and as you can tell from the works under the English nine Honors page I'm not all that bad at it), listen to music, and I read like a fiend. Its not uncommon for me to read a 300-400 page book a day, sometimes two when I really get into a series.
My life overall has a pattern, but only during the week. When the weekend comes I have no plans so my life turns into something like a drunk driver only without the mess. Right now my goals are changing from what they were and now I have three. My first one is to become a deep-sea marine biologist after receiving a doctorate from UCSB. The second is to become an engineer that works on developing newer forms to create use able energy. Recently, I have considered joining the air force where I would learn to fly one of the bigger planes then go join an air line for the good benefits, money, free air travel, and with this job I will have more of a chance to go surfing.
In this world there are only three people I trust: my nana, my friend Lawrence, and my tutor/friend Laurel. They are the only ones I trust, and I am counting my parents in the “I don't trust list.” My philosophy that I live by I got from my boss, Eric. “So long as I have a car, full tank of gas, food, surfboard, and some waves I'm happy.” He is a lot more relaxed than I am about life but I still agree with him that as long as you have food, a place to sleep, and drive all you need to do is just have fun and your life is complete. I may never get a lot of money or friends but so long as I'm happy I'll be fine.
Last year was a good year where I learned a lot about everything and made many new friends. I am hoping this year will end up the same. I've lost a few of the people I knew last year because they left high school but I keep on making new friends. The AP biology class is the only one that I'm not sure will be fun because it is an college level course and it is taught by a strict teacher.
