The pieces may both be original, or one by you and one favorite by somebody else—regifting poetry is allowed! Andres Rodriguez and D. K. Smith Friday, December 11th, 8:00 p.m. at The Writers Place Andres Rodriguez was born in Kansas City, Missouri. He is the author of Night Song, a collection of poetry, and Book of the Heart: The Poetics, Letters, and Life of John Keats. He has degrees in English from the University of Iowa, Stanford, and the University of California-Santa Cruz. His poems won a Poets & Writers Maureen Egan Writers Exchange Award in 2007 and have appeared in such journals as Harvard Review, Cortland Review, Valparaiso Review, Bilingual Review, and the anthologies Currents from the Dancing River, New Chicano/Chicana Writing, and Wild Song. Rodríguez has taught literature and writing at various colleges and universities, most recently at Northern Arizona University. He lives and works in Kansas City. D. K. Smith is a graduate of Yale and the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. He holds a Ph.D. in Medieval and Renaissance literature from the University of Iowa and teaches at Kansas State University.
