At an impromptu meeting in December 2011, it was decided not to organise a Stamford RiverDay in 2012.

 

The reasons behind this are that the summer will already be busy, with both the London Olympics, and the celebration of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

 

2012 is also the centenary of the creation of the Wildlife Trusts, which means that many of the RiverCare volunteers from the Trusts will be organising centenary celebration events.

 

We will, of course, be undertaking Task Days and evenings, balsam bashing, and continuing our work to restore the Millstream.
