Finding
sources does not have to be limited to the catalog. The catalog is the
best source for finding if the Library owns books, government document,
and media. It can also tell you if you want to see if the Library owns
a certain publication. However, there are additional ways to finding
what you need.
To see if we access to an article full-text...
Additional ways to locate if the library has access to the full-text of an article is to use the Journal Finder. - How it works: the Journal Finder
lets the research know if the library has access to ONLY Full-Text
articles. These can be either online (in a database) or in print
(housed on the 2nd floor).
- For
Example: You are researching in a reference source or book and find an article that you think may be useful. Use the
footnotes or bibliography to help you locate a JOURNAL from that
bibliography and see if the library has access to it. Here's what you found:
Moi, Toril. "First and Foremost a Human Being": Idealism, Theatre, and Gender in "A Doll's House." Modern Drama 49.3 (Fall 2006): 256-84. - In the search box for the Journal Finder, type the name of the journal/publication (NOT ARTICLE): Modern Drama. This will locate the databases the journal is in. It can also tell you if we get the journal in print. Most
important... unlike the catalog, the Journal Finder will give you the
option to link into the database(s) the article may be found in.
Options if we don't have the material(s)...
If you are able to wait:
Step 1. Pick the appropriate form (either book or article) and fill out the required (*) fields. Step 2. Fill out the online form using your Ramapo Email (it will not be processed without that email address). Step 3. Submit your form(s). Step 4. Wait for your item to come in. CAUTION: give yourself time (it can take longer than 2 weeks in some cases)
If you don't want to wait:

our our reciprocal borrowing program if the item is located at one of
