Did you know that Delta Society has 155 Pet Partner teams that have animal partners other than a dog or cat? In fact, there are a great many species that make wonderful visiting animals and can form a strong human-animal bond. Examples of registered Pet Partners, such as Outlaw pictured below, include: Guinea pigs - currently 10 teams Rabbits - currently 37 teams
Domesticated rats - currently 2 teams Horses - currently 68 teams! Chinchillas - currently 1 team Llamas - currently 4 teams Donkeys - currently 6 teams Potbellied pigs - currently 2 teams Cockatoos - currently 6 teams African Gray Parrots - currently 1 team Chickens - currently 4 teams If you don't have a dog, but have another kind of animal that you think would make a good therapy animal, please sign up for one of our classes!
