 Rinku Singh Rahi is working as District Social Welfare Officer, Muzaffarnagar (U.P.), Shot with Six bullets on 26th March, 2009 by local mafia at the behest of some corrupt officials of his department as he had reported accounting discrepancies worth Crores of Rupees to higher authorities. However, he survived the murderous attempt and recuperating at Subharti Hospital, Merrut (U.P.) but lost one eye. Rinku also wrote a letter to the Director of his department, highlighting prevalent corruption in the department.
Riku has performed his duties honestly, undeterred by the consequences of repetitive threats to his life, therefore wider coverage of his heroics, needs to be done to honour his sacrifice and to send a strong message to the corrupts.
The present attack on Rinku is covered by local media, however coverage by Electronic and national print media has been negligible. As of now our major concern is Rinku’s Security as he still faces grave threat to his life. There is a urgent need of some sincere efforts at our end.
