Seeing how neighbors and friends in her hometown of Nochistlan Zac made money selling things like tostadas out of their home inspired Emerita's entrepreneurial spirit. Her father had a field on the outskirts of town where he planted various foods such as beans, cabbage, and lettuce. Seeing the business potential, Emerita borrowed some money from her mother and began a small business selling oranges with chili powder and water for those who traveled by her town either by foot or donkey.
In regards to Start Up, Emerita says, "Before you open a business, you've got to go to Start Up... They can give you the tools. With the tools in your hand, it's like building a house; you have to start from the base structure. Start from the bottom and build up, and don't rush into your business too fast." Menu Rincón Sabroso Restaurant offers a variety of authentic Mexican foods, such as tacos, burritos, quesadillas, tortas, tostadas, various seafood plates, and pupusas, a rare Salvadorean specialty consisting of a hand-made corn tortilla and choices of cheese, beans, pork, or the Salvadorean loroco.
