The Ridgeland Elementary School library media program aims to ensure that all students and staff members are encouraged to read for pleasure and information and that they have the tools necessary to be effective users of information and ideas. This mission is accomplished:

· by providing access to materials

· by providing instruction in how to use materials and in fostering an interest in literature

· by collaborating with teachers to ensure that their needs and the needs of students are being met.

We provide weekly storytimes and book circulation to our 12 pre-k and kindergarten classes and bi-weekly checkout times for for our 40 additional 1st through 5th grade classes. Additionally, the media specialist collaborates with teachers to assist them in meeting state curriculum standards.

The RES library is open between the hours of 7:00a.m. and 3:00p.m. Parents are welcome to visit the library during open hours to checkout up to 5 books.
