Samuel Meyer was made an Entered Apprentice in Manchester Lodge No. 14 on April 17, 1957, passed to the degree of Fellowcraft on May 22, 1957, and raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason on June 19, 1957. Brother Meyer affiliated with Fraternal Lodge No. 53 on March 9, 1959 and served that Lodge with distinction as Worshipful Master in 1986. He was awarded a 50-year pin in 2007. Sam was also a member of A. Douglas Smith Lodge of Research No. 1949.
Ill. Samuel Meyer was made a Master of the Royal Secret, 32°, on November 30, 1957, and served as Wise Master in 1969-1970. He was a member of the Scottish Rite Guard and was elected Commander in 1988, and served in that capacity for many years. Sam was invested with the rank and decoration of Knight Commander Court of Honour in 1971 and Coroneted a 33° Inspector General Honorary in 1987.
Ill. Meyer served our Scottish Rite through the Lodge of Perfection as Venerable Master in 1994. He was elected to the Board of Directors of the Scottish Rite Childhood Language Center, where he served on the Finance Committee for many years.
