The Ruma 2 Tribune Greetings to all and welcome to the beginning of an action packed term! Wow wasn't the school production a great success. I'm sure you are proud of how well your child did. Moving Toys This term for our technology focus we will be looking at "Moving Toys". Richard Lees a toymaker, will be visiting our school on Tuesday 3rd November. He will be conducting a toy making session. The cost of this hands on activity will be $4.00. Please bring this money to school with your child asap.
Teacher Aide Working in Ruma 2 in small groups or in a resource mode will be our very experienced Teacher Aide Sphiner Folasa who we are extremely lucky to have working in the Kiwi Connection! B O O K W O R M S We LOVE to read in Ruma 2 and it is important to bring our book bag to school everyday. The school ruling is NO book bag NO book is sent home. On Tuesday mornings we visit the school library. Please note the new library day. Remember these books your child chooses are for sharing with a parent and the children are not expected to be able to read library books independently. Sport and Fitness Sport is essential for child development and each Tuesday and Thursday we aim to get the heart rate going with high impact cardio routines set to music called Jump Jam. We also have junior sport every second Friday afternoon. Please make sure your child is dressed in clothing that is comfortable and easy to move in. S w i m m i n g The junior school will have their swimming lessons on Thursday until week 5 at Youthtown. We will leave school at 9.40 and hope to be back by 11.00am. It would be great if children could arrive at school with their swimming togs under their clothing and their clothing and towel could be placed in a plastic bag. If any parents are available to help dress the children after swimming please let me know. Health Corner As you may already know we have a student in our class named Jake who has very serious food allergies. He is allergic to: nuts, eggs and dog saliva. Please make sure you do not send your children to school with products containing nuts and egg where at all possible. Thank you for your understanding in this matter.
