741days since
Class of 1960 Class Reunion

Welcome to The Class of 1960 Reunion

See Reunion Recap, and Jeopardy game download

=================================

Our 50th class reunion was initially planned as a three-day cruise to the Bahamas, but since the stock market bottomed out, we opted for luxury hamburgers and fries (plus other delicious choices).

May 22, 2010 on Saturday is the big day!!

6:30 PM at Dixie's Diner (Idaho Falls)

Events include Class Jeopardy Game, and Reunion Movie

We ate at Dixie’s Diner at 2150 Channing Way in Idaho Falls.

Entertainment included a lively RHS JEOPARDY game pitting the "north" vs. the "south",  followed by a movie featuring 500+ photos of our class, plus 23 songs from our high school years.   DVD's were available for $5.  Class photos files are also on the DVD. (To access them, go to "My Computer", then find the drive where the DVD is --usually the "D" DRIVE: right click and select "open" .  One folder will have all the photos used in the show.)

Here's some of the people we hoped to see!

Update your biographical page
 and photos
Even if you weren't able to attend the reunion.  I will continue to add information and pictures as you provide them ad infinitum.

 Memories
 By JR Hayes
There are some songs I remember.  Love Me Tender by Elvis, All I have to do is dream by the Everly Brothers, Wake up little Suzie.
Movies that stand out in my memory include, South Pacific, Bridge on the River Kwai, The Sound of Music, Spartacus, Sampson and Delilah, The Ten Commandments, The Parent Trap and Psycho.  Burr Dennis ran the movie theater and the admission was twenty cents and candy bars were a nickel.  You used to be able to go roller skating on Saturdays at the old dance hall on Main Street.

Other memories include, rattling the braces on the water tower late at night, hearing the steam whistle of the old steam engines at they approached crossings all the way through the countryside.  They used to stop in Ririe and take on more water before they continued on.  I remember the siren at noon that used to be on the fire station which I think is now the library.  If you didn’t want to go to the “lunch room”, I remember having lunch at the counter at the drug store or at Jordan’s burger shop or if you were in a real hurry, we would buy a donut and a “pop” the Merc.

The buildings where we attended 1st through 5th grades and 6th grade are all gone now as is most of the High School and the church has been replaced as has the seminary building.  It would be fun to have digital photos of all of those buildings.

Truly “Life is quick in passing tis as a single day”.  It will be good to see everyone again.  We really had a great adventure together as we were growing up.  It would be nice if we had a week together so we had time to learn about what has happened to each other since we parted company and decided on education, got married and selected vocations.  I have relished every minute as I have read the brief histories of those who have shared the condensed versions of their lives.
