This page describes how to interact with data in Rhizosphere. To setup such data, view the Documentation overview. Rhizosphere lets you interact in multiple ways with your data. All these modes are accessible from the menus and controls available in the bottom area ( if you are not working in Fullscreen mode ) or in the left sidebar ( if you are working in Fullscreen mode ). LayoutBy clicking on the Display menu, or using the controls on your left ( if you are in fullscreen mode ), you can choose to keep your items ordered by different criteria. These include : - Sorted list, with sorting according to one of the attributes.
- Buckets, where items are grouped together according to one attribute of your choice
- Hierarchical Tree, if the model you are displaying has parent-child relationships ( example: Organizational Charts ).
- Random
- No ordering. The items won't change their position, so that you can rearrange them to fit your needs.
FilteringBy clicking the Filters link, you can display the available filters ( Filters are always shown when in fullscreen mode ). You can filter on every attribute from your model. Various kind of filters exist: - Text filter : just type in some text that matches one or more of your items and press enter. All the others will disappear.
- Numeric filters : they can allow plain numbers, or use ranges with sliders, as the one depicted above. Just drag the handles to filter your items
- Category filters : they allow to choose the filter value from a fixed set of possible values ( typically using a dropdown box ). See How-To: Advanced Gadget Options on how to setup them inside a Google Spreadsheet.
SelectionYou can always decide to work on a subset of the data you have. You can select items in two ways : - by double clicking them
- by drawing a box with the mouse around them. Just press down the mouse button in some empty spot and start dragging it to draw the selection box
Once you have selected some items, you can restrict the Rhizosphere view on such items by clicking the Work on selected items only button inside the Selection menu. Item Coloring and SizingSee How-To: Advanced Gadget Options |
