Concerts give the band members a chance to showcase their skills! There is no equivalent for performing with a group that has been working together over a number of weeks or months in preparation for a concert. Hopefully no one will miss any concerts this year. Remember, band is a co-curricular class, not just an extra-curricular activity. You can consult your band handbook for questions about concert dress and attendance.
