Why I Relay

“I Relay For Life because I know the importance of research. I’m very proud to say that I’m from a large family that’s never been touched by cancer.”

“I Relay because I am a Survivor”

“I Relay to support everyone. To listen to their stories and let them know I am her for them. Endless reasons………….”

“My reason:  by the time my children or grandkids get cancer—there will be a cure. Please God!”

“The reason I Relay I guess is to try to heal. To heal in the loss of my dad. To help in any way to get rid of this dreaded disease. I relay for the Survivors.”

“I Relay for my mom and for a cure. I relay for Hope. My heart leads me.”

“I Relay so that others do not have to go through the trials and tribulations and the not knowing that I had to go through.  Knowledge is a powerful tool.”

“I Relay for many reasons I started when a good friend of mine died from cancer and it seems from that time on I had so many family members, uncles, father-in-law who died and now my mother-in-law and my friend are still fighting.  So I’ll Relay every year I can…if it means finding a cure!!!”

“I Relay for myself, family & friends.  Most of all for the future members of my family as with every new research more hope for more survivors and longer life and better life living with cancer.”

“I relay because I was asked me to become a part of the Relay.  I hadn’t realized how much it touches everyone in my life.”

“I Relay so children won’t have to grow up without their moms and dads and moms and dads won’t have to grow old without their children.”

“I Relay for my family, friends and co-workers.  For everyone that needs help, support and care.  I Relay for Love!”

“To honor my mom that has fought the battle and is a new survivor.  I Relay to remember a very dear friend of mine. And to offer hope and encouragement to those that are beginning their battle.  One step at a time.  Let’s do this together. We can do this!!!”

“I Relay for the mother’s memory.  The fact that my mother-in-law survived breast cancer and the belief that my help with Relay can help beat cancer.”

“My mom, my best friend, is a survivor! She is my inspiration! She is my reason! My hope that this disease will be beaten!”

“FOR HOPE”

“I Relay in honor of my son and myself.  Also in memory of my brother.  I Relay to help raise monies for Cancer Research. I Relay because I am a Survivor.”

“I Relay for my family and friends that have lost their battle and for those who survived, and are continuing to survive.”

“My uncle, grandfather and mother-in-law have all passed away from cancer and I don’t know if I will encounter it again in the future.  I am hoping for a cure!”

“To celebrate the lives of our precious survivors, honor the lives of those brave people who lost the battle and encourage others who may or are facing the challenge.”

“For my mom and her memories—to precious to forget.
For my brother—in his memory.
For my patients and their families and all I learn from them.
In hope never to have to encounter the anguish and pain again!”

“To honor all Survivors plus those of our loved ones and friends that have gone before us, that one day cancer may be eradicated.”

“I Relay because cancer is in my family and my husband’s family. I have a friend who has cancer and my sister-in-law was diagnosed yesterday. And so the story continues…”

“To become a cancer-free world.”

“I Relay because of family members that have cancer endure so much, the least that I can do is go one overnight of sleep to support my loved ones. Plus raise money to support research.”

“…I Relay for all those who have fought the battle, those still fighting and to hopefully make some small difference in this great fight.”
