Enjoy Dancing with Revital Golan
Biography
I was born on August 1st, 1976 and grew up in the city of Petah-Tikva in Israel. I began my Israeli folkdance addiction already when I was 16 and a half years old, after learning ballet and jazz in my childhood. At the age of 24, I joined two professional dance groups, of the choreographers Gavry Levi and Shlomo Maman.
Apart from dancing I am a computer engineer by profession, with a B.A. in computer science. After my academic studies I worked at a start-up company, and since 2000 I’ve been working at a very big high-tech company.
At March 2005 I opened my first class, an Israeli folkdance class for women and young girls only, at Givat Shmuel. After half a year I opened another class for women and young girls only at Petah-Tikva. Since my Ulpan graduation, I participate in big dancing classes at different events, such as Independence Day and the Karmiel Dance Festival.
I integrate the two fields of computers and Israeli folkdance by managing the forum for Israeli folkdance at the internet Tapuz portal, in cooperation with Yaron Meishar.
Moreover, I have written some articles about Israeli song culture and dance in Sabres and Rokdim magazines. |
