Watersheds: From River to Estuary
A Summer Research Experiences for Undergraduates Site at the MU Center for Environmental Sciences
The
Millersville University Center for Environmental Sciences (MUCES) is
now offering paid summer research experiences for undergraduates. The
objective of this internship program is to offer a 10-week summer
research program in environmental sciences to 8 undergraduate student
participants who will work directly with Ph.D. experts in a variety of
environmental science fields including biology, meteorology, geography
and chemistry (see list of mentors and projects below). Our focus in on
watersheds from headwater streams to estuarine and nearshore marine
environments and we offer a broad range of experiences including field
and laboratory work. In addition to developing and undertaking their
own independent research project, students will participate in a
week-long environmental biology workshop as well as weekly meetings,
seminars and social events. Through this program, MUCES will be able to
reach out to those students who will make up the next generation of
ecologists, conservation biologists, teachers, environmental planners,
and environmental policy advocates. We are dedicated to building a
diverse community trained experts and we especially encourage minority
and underrepresented populations such as non-traditional students and
pre-service teachers to apply.

Stipend:
