RtR Donation Update On March 16th, 2012 Retail to Refuge made donation to the St. Peter Food Shelf. We were so excited to pack up our products and deliver them to others n need. All together we donated 27 grocery bags!!! These are just some of the items that were on our list...

Wow right?!?!?! These past few months God has provided GREAT grocery deals for RtR. We felt God calling us to fill up St. Peter’s Food Shelf. By faith we knew that God would provide and He did above and beyond. When we arrived that afternoon to drop off our bags we were informed that all donations in the month of March would be doubled by a unanimous donor!!! Now that can not be a coincidence! Only the divine intervention of God could do remarkable things like that! What an amazing gift all of you have given. Your products and coupons were doubled that day! God is good and He likes to give good gifts….Amen!

Here is a long awaited shopping trip update! As I had mentioned in my earlier post, life has become busy. But my love is being able to use the gift of couponing to give to others. We are gearing up to do some exciting drop-offs to a food shelf and a women shelter. Keep posted for more information! As some of you may have noticed, the “Shopping Updates” and “Hot Coupon” alerts on our page have been delayed. Unexpectedly, our family life has become very busy. God has dropped another exciting adventure into our laps and we are pursuing it. This in no way means that I am walking away from Retail to Refuge. I believe whole heartedly that God has a special place for this ministry. The purpose of this post is to inform you that I am still hard at work using your coupons.  On Friday October 21, Retail to Refuge made their 2nd Donation Drop-Off to Community Helping Hands in Forest Lake, MN. It was a beautiful fall day and we were full of excitement and anticipation. The day before brought to reality exactly how much we had to give. Along with a 4 page itemized list we typed up, here are some of the things included:
103 boxes of Hamburger Helper 13 boxes of crackers 10 laundry detergents 8 boxes of fabric softener 11 bottles of dish soap 16 packages of pens 16 razors 11 lotions 18 bottles of shampoo 32 tubes of toothpaste 33 deodorants
They were truly amazed by the amount of products that were given! My van was completely FULL of grocery bags. God is good…and He has been overflowing our shelves. Your coupons turn into REAL products that bless others. This time we were able to bless the people who come through Community Helping Hand. I wish I was able to reach through the computer screen and give you all a big hug from them! THANK YOU….thank you…thank you! They were so grateful and appreciative! Community Helping Hand is such a wonderful organization and has been serving the community for 30 years. They rely solely on donations or sales from their Thrift Store. So I am posting a little bit early this week since we are getting ready for our BIG Quarterly Drop-Off to a charity/organization. This Friday we are dropping the supplies we’ve collected with your coupons to Community Helping Hand in Forest Lake, MN. I posted some information about them last week but here’s the recap in case you missed it.
For the past 30 years, Community Helping Hand Hand has been dedicated to serving the people of Forest Lake. Through the generous donations they receive, and the sales from their thrift store, they help out the residents of Forest Lake who have fallen on hard times. This non-profit organization gives assistance with energy bills, rent, prescriptions, food and much more. They receive no assistance from state or federal agencies and rely solely on the donations they receive and sales from their thrift store. Check out there website at http://communityhelpinghand.org/

Well it’s official…Fall is here! And with that said, RtR is preparing for our 2nd donation drop-off!!! On Friday October 21st we will be delivering supplies over to Community Helping Hand in Forest Lake, MN. For the past 30 years, Community Helping Hand Hand has been dedicated to serving the people of Forest Lake. Through the generous donations they receive, and the sales from their thrift store, they help out the residents of Forest Lake who have fallen on hard times. Wowzza! That pretty much describes the kind of week we’ve had here at RtR. Our shopping trips have been AMAZING! They are some of the best that I’ve been apart of for sure! Shopping Trip Update Week of 8/28/2011 Let me be honest and say this week has been a challenge for me. I have not had the time or energy to get shopping! Our family lost a GREAT man this past week to cancer. We miss him terribly but are rejoicing that he is walking the streets of heaven with Jesus. Love you Grandpa Jake!

Well, yes we do thanks to some great deals I found this week! I'm estimating that all the hair products would we got would have cost the average shopper at least $48. But thanks to some good coupons I had on stock we snagged them ALL for $2.47!!! Looking forward to adding them to our donation shelves tonight.
What can you buy for $4.20?
So think about it for a minute….what can you buy for $4.20? I know my favorite coffee at Starbucks cost more than that! Well, you’ll be pleased to know that on my recent shopping trip to Cub Foods I purchased 60 boxes of Hamburger/Tuna/Chicken Helper for that $4.20!!! Yahooo!!!! That comes out to .07 cents a box. I am so extremely excited to stock Retail to Refuge’s shelves with these boxed meals. This will make for some quick and easy meals for families who are in need.

Our first donation trip to Hope Lodge in Rochester MN. Such a great day! I got to meet Jammie McGuire, the manager, and talk to some of the volunteers that work there. Let me tell you, they were so blessed by our donations that day! What an amazing experience it is to give. I am already looking forward to our next drop off!
