The Resort Advisory Committee was formed by act of the Middleborough Board of Selectmen.  The Committee is comprised of 11 members appointed by the Board of Selectmen (see Committee Members). 

  

The Charge of the Committee is:

 

The Middleborough Resort Advisory Committee shall investigate positive and negative impacts and estimate costs and revenues directly resulting from the Intergovernmental Agreement with the Wampanoag Tribe of Mashpee.  

 

The Committee shall consider financial, cultural and physical effects of a resort on the town with respect to zoning, master plan, infrastructure, utilities, traffic and long term character of the community.

 

The Committee shall meet with residents, town departments and any other resource deemed necessary.

 

The Committee shall utilize the Town Planning Department as primary daily contact and Town Planner as their point person for information from the Town.

 

The Committee shall utilize Selectman Bond as the “Daily Contact” from the Board with Selectman Perkins as alternate.  The Daily Contact will be available to meet during normal Town business hours.

 

The Committee shall continue to provide the residents of Middleborough with a venue to discuss and/or question ongoing developments during the resort’s planning and construction.

 

The Committee shall provide a quarterly report to the Board of Selectmen presenting impacts and mitigations, resort updates and planning.
