Potential Recruits,

I am finally getting around to actively recruiting for my unit, the Free Cities. I have been putting this off for some time due to the fact that I wanted to get a local group together first, but the more the unit concept becomes clearer and clearer in my mind the more I realize I am going to have a problem with actively recruiting where I live, mostly because of my busy battle schedule. 

Another reason I will be having a tough time recruiting is I don’t want just anyone. I want people willing to play Dagorhir to a higher standard, in many ways. I also want Heroes, not soldiers, not warriors, but people who that even when acting as part of a group do it with enough style and individuality that a general thinks to himself, I want THAT man on my side. And finally I want dirty, filthy, soul selling mercenaries, men willing to achieve any objective in order to earn their pay. 

 To those ends I have structured this unit based on my own fantasy realm, and have added additional requirements for any members. The first of those being that to even be a recruit, your look must be above that of an average newbie, no obvious modern anything to your garb, your weapons and shields MUST be brown, gray, or black, and all garb and weapons must look like they fits in a dark ages Europe setting.  

Not only will we look better, we play better. And to that end, there is a .5 oz per inch weight requirement on weapons, and a rule for armor that it must be able to protect you from actual weapon injury. No Gothic plate is allowed as that comes after the dark ages we are simulated to represent, leather armor is of at least 16 oz, and either water hardened or wax hardened. Weapons must also balance realistically for their type; swords near the handle to 4 inches above, and mass weapons half way to the top or higher.

I am looking for heroes to join this unit, the man people look up to at the end of battle and say, “wow, I wanna be like him when I get good.” Or at least those willing to train themselves to be such.
