Greetings MAPS Presidents,
Please allow us to
introduce ourselves. Our names are Sarah Ann Anderson and Robert Gibson and it
is our sincere pleasure to serve as your elected 2010-2011 Region IX Minority
Association of Premedical Students (MAPS) liaisons. We are both very passionate about expanding
opportunities for students of color in all facets of medicine and we hope to
serve in this capacity as your MAPS liaisons.
The Student National
Medical Association (SNMA) has been an instrumental part of both of our medical
careers thus far and it can also be instrumental in YOUR path to medicine. MAPS is the undergraduate arm of SNMA and
was created to provide the appropriate and much needed support for premedical
students of color. Robert and I are very
excited for this year and we have drafted a list of initiatives that we would
like to accomplish for our region and these initiatives can only be achieved
with YOUR effort and support.
