Chollas Triangle Master Plan Charrette October 15th 2011
Local area residents gathered with city officials and engineers to
discuss the plans for the chollas triangle. City council man Tony Young
took time out of his busy schedule to listen to the presentation and
hear the residents thoughts and concerns. The city did a good job of
taking the information they received at last weeks meeting to create 3
options for the park, roads and use. There are many efforts going on to improve University Avenue between 54th and College Avenues. Review recent posts to get the latest news on what is going on.

approved on May 22, 2009, the list of projects to be funded under the
first cycle of the TransNet Smart Growth Incentive Program,
which included the Mid-City State Route 15 Bus Rapid Transit Station
Area Planning Study in the City Heights Redevelopment Project Area and
the Chollas Triangle Master Plan in the Crossroads Redevelopment Project
Area. The Redevelopment Agency partnered with the City of San Diego to
submit the successful applications and will provide matching funds for

University Avenue Mobility Study Community Workshop on
May 16, 2011 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Teen Challenge Center
located at 5450 Lea Street San Diego, CA 92105. This workshop will
include City staff, consultants and community members to discuss
mobility issues and improvements and to view proposed improvements to the roadway and sidewalks along University Avenue from 54th Street to 69th Street.

Chollas Triangle Improvement Project
The
City of San Diego is beginning work on a planning study for the Chollas
Triangle—the area bounded by 54th Street, University Avenue, and
Chollas Parkway. The master plan for this project will provide a vision
for the study area that encourages a mixture of residential, public and
employment uses. A working group guide City staff and a consultant team
through the comprehensive development of the master plan by providing
input on the vision of the site. The master plan process will cover a
multitude of topics including land use, mobility, urban design, economic
