My name is Rose and I have been making friends with and utilizing weeds and herbs for over ten years. I love to research and write about natural health, and I really love being outside wildcrafting in my yard and the urban wild around Nanaimo BC, Canada.
What I do:
Weed tours of your backyard: $50 for an afternoon. You and 4 friends, that's $10 each. Plants that we need have a way of coming to us. Find out what's in your own backyard just waiting to be discovered. Warning, a super-manicured lawn might not render good results. Yards with weeds amongst the grass are more suitable for this tour. Overgrown areas are bonus features.
Workshops and classes on getting to know plants and making herbal usables:
Celebrate Spring by discovering the weeds and herbs that grow in your urban wild. Saturdays, March 21 - April 18, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. (some classes might run over time). Over five weeks, this class will visit the forest, the clear-cut, a park and a backyard, and also end up in the kitchen. Participants will take home plant material almost every time, and will learn how to make plant infusions in oil, vinegar, alcohol and water. Communing with plants, listening to them and learning to trust your instincts is also part of this class.
$100 for all 5 classes. All materials provided.
