My Bio
I’m a self-taught guitar maker with 18 years experience. I started out when I received a request from my son to build him a special guitar of his own design. I owned a cabinet shop, so we went to the shop and laid out a guitar shape. We band sawed it out and glued kite string on it. That was 1989. I’ve custom built, at last count; 14 guitars and basses.
I love Gibson guitars, so most are built in that similar style.
I’ve built and tinkered on tube amps for some time. I say, “if it don’t GLOW, it don’t go.” Old school analog circuits just have more dynamics. My first real amp build was a kit from Metro Amp. It was a Marshall JTM-45. Then a Marshall 18 watt was modified and stuffed into a Hammond AO-35 organ chassis. The people at 18watt.com and metroamp.com forums should take the credit for reintroducing tube amp building skills to thousands of guys like me.
I'll be posting many pics of cool guitars, my own Redtail guitar builds, amp builds, effect pedal info, schematics, tips & techniques, and a unique feature called ‘Guitar Art and Sculpture’.

It was made from walnut burl. I had a chunk of burl that I was
going to build a chair with, but it worked out better as you can see.
The goldtop was done in 2004.
The JTM-45 head and matching cabinet were done in 2005.
