Kitchen

This website is dedicated to our home renovation projects. Every finished room makes our home feel like it's truly ours and we couldn't be more thrilled despite any challenges that come along the way. The kitchen was our first major renovation and it has set the style and tone for the rest of our house. It took about a year to complete and furnish it and it was admittedly stressful at times. But we are so happy with the way it turned out, and living and cooking in it has been wonderful.

*Updated Photo - We added a roman shade on the window above the sink, in the same fabric as our curtains. It makes a huge difference and really softens the look of the window.

Kitchen Details

Granite Countertops

The feel of our kitchen started with Bianco Antico granite which both my husband and I knew we had to have when we first laid eyes on it.

Pendant Lights

The antique reproduction pendant lights are from Turn of the Century Lighting in a bright nickel finish.

Cabinets

Our custom cabinetry was made by our general contractor's uncle. Their family has a history in the custom wood furniture and cabinetry business.

Hardware

I searched everywhere for hardware and found that Restoration Hardware has the most simple yet incredible hardware.

Flooring

We replaced the old ceramic tiles with red oak hardwood and refinished our entire main floor so that everything matched. It makes a huge difference in terms of the flow from our kitchen to our family room.

Sinks and Faucets

The silgranit sink and chrome faucets were a steal from Quality Bath.The faucets are Danze Opulence and the sink is Blanco silgranit in the biscuit colour.

The Ticor stainless steel prep sink was a great deal from Galaxy Tool Supply.

Backsplash

The backsplash was definitely the hardest thing to choose as there are so many options. Our backsplash is 2x8 Heath Ceramics handmade tiles from Ann Sacks.

Appliances

Our appliances are mainly Kitchenaid (French door fridge, 5-burner electric cooktop and dishwasher) and GE (microwave and wall oven). The range hood insert is from Vent-A-Hood.
