Outreach Workgroup

Overview of Responsibilities: Outreach to the community. Letting the broader Bellingham community know about our existence and programs.  (see the Weclome Workgroup for welcoming new people and handling incoming communication from the community; see the Membership Workgroup for support of new and potential members).

Task List:
  • Free advertising (PSAs everywhere)
  • Paid "fancy" advertising: posters, print ads, banners, signage on/near building
    • Posters and Hand Bills
              -  design (Publish on laptop in office for this)
              -  produce (Copy Source still seems best, our account is 674)
              -  distribute (need to update an old list of outreach places and make little distribution kits)
  •  Creative outreach: WWU info fair, speaking at Village Books, trying to get Norman Fischer in local media, childcare at sits, open house(s), Ba'hai Sunday School (or other Interfaith action), etc.

  • Janet Martinson (sending out publicity, later: administering poster distribution system)
  • Fran Hecht (creating poster location list / distribution system)
Former member available to train new outreach people: Mary Apple (outgoing)
