A message from RECOVERY's project leader, Lizzie Maitland:

Welcome to our website. We hope you find what you are looking for.

We are the first charity in England to be set up by survivors, in July 2004, for Mental Health.

Our RECOVERY Independent Advocacy Project (RIAP) provides advocacy in the community to enable survivors of Mental Health problems to find ways to Wellbeing and avoid being forced onto drugs or into psychiatric wards. We also have regular sessions of Centering Therapy to remind the mind to be still, and we do monthly CARAT (Complementary, Alternative Remedies and Therapies) parties to learn about ways to recover.
