Locking Fields from Being Edited

Lock downs prevent the recipient of the document from changing any fields set. Different types of lock downs can be set.

Basic Lock down

To lock down a field & make it editable by the Publisher only:
  • click on the field & click on the “Options” icon (the Wrench)
  • the Field Properties will open and clicking on the field you want to lock down.  Once you have the field selected, there is a checkbox that says “Read Only.”

This option prevents the recipient from being able to modify the contents of that field.

Advanced Lock downs
Locking out Publisher – In the Field Properties, check Editer and in the drop down beside it, click on Recipient.

Locking out Publisher & Recipient – In the Field Properties, check Editer and in the drop down beside it, click on Recipient.  Secondly check Read Only.  

User Specific Fields – If you need a certain person to fill out a field and no one else, check Editor in the Field Properties menu and then in the drop down, select their email address.

Level Lock downs – (See “Working with Signing Groups” for information about levels).  Fields can be setup for certain group level signatures.  This is done by having your signatures on the form, then simply selecting individual or group fields and checking the Editer, and choosing the level in the drop down.
