How to Tell if You Are Psychic

The History of Psychic Powers

In recognizing psychic powers, two things are important to keep in mind.  First, it sometimes takes one to know one.  Developing your own intuitive abilities would guide you in recognizing these abilities in others more easily.  This is because of the second factor, being that most people tend to simply dismiss these abilities completely.  What may well be a strongly developed psychic ability may be tossed aside as mere coincidence to someone that doesn't know what to expect.  Conversely, a person may wrongly assume a psychic power in use when none exists.  Imagine how many people that are having a bad run of circumstances in life go running to psychic readers or healers claiming that someone's cursed them!

The task of recognizing psychic powers is much easier when dealing with young children.  We are all born with our innate psychic and as children most of us had no problem speaking to the little fairies in our gardens, talking to trees, or having imaginary friends.  Although as adults we tend to think of these instances as vivid imagination or play, it could very well indicate a strong psychic awareness.  In aboriginal cultures, children were encouraged to share their dreams for this very reason, as well as to treat contact with spirits quite seriously.  Only in modernized culture are we so ready to send the child off for a diagnosis.  As noted above, if these instances are dismissed, it could hasten the shut down of the child's psychic powers.  Always, in recognizing psychic powers, remain open to the possibilities.

Also as noted above, in order to become adept in recognizing psychic powers, one has to develop their own intuition and awareness.  In fact sensing psychic powers in others could be considered an ability in it's own right.  Become an open minded observer and trust your impressions.  Does a friend or coworker seem to be adept at coming up with the right answers before a question is asked of them?  Or seem to always be in the right place when needed.  Perhaps a friend or family member has a knack of calling just when you need to talk to them or saying just the right thing you need to hear.  You can easily see the need to be open minded when encountering these or similar circumstances so you can note them.  Perhaps they might be willing to work with you to test their abilities and help you develop your own.  Even if they are unaware of the abilities being unique, once you help them in recognizing psychic powers and how they manifest, they may prove to be intrigued enough to explore them further.

In the tribal past, recognizing psychic powers was a matter of a person realizing that another had a knack for healing, foretelling the future, or communicating with the spirits of nature.  Ancient shamans were necessary members of their tribes to ensure their continued survival.  Now, of course they aren't needed in modern times.  So why would one bother developing these abilities?  Why would one care enough to develop the insight to recognize them?  Realize that these powers are available to everyone and can lead to greater success in all areas of life.  In cultivating these powers, we are engaging in a powerful adventure, and in recognizing psychic powers in others, we just might find company on the trip.
