Course Description: This course will consist of a variety of methods of printmaking, including: Screen printing on t-shirts and paper, linoleum block and other relief printing, etching, mono-printing, stamping, etc. Students will also make their own paper, and explore creative book making and binding techniques. This class will also explore historical and contemporary printing in commercial and non-commercial formats, as well as explore graphic design layout on the computer, as it pertains to the printing process. Students will be awarded ½ credit for each semester. Students will use various drawing skills to create compositions for their prints. Two semesters of fine arts will satisfy the 1 credit graduation requirement, and the fine arts requirement needed for admission to any Arizona University. Pre-requisites: completion of previous HS art class, or instructor approval.
