We have closed After a great deal of discussion, the directors of Re-Bike CIC have decided to close the company. Bicycle recycling is a marginal business and though we gave it a good try, we couldn't create a thriving social enterprise on the back of it. We have helped kick-start bicycle recycling at TCAT. We did recycle a fair number of bicycles. All three directors will continue to work to get more people cycling in Shropshire. Re-Bike is solvent but we have agreed it is best to wind it up. We'd like to thank everyone who helped out with donations, bought bikes or volunteered in the workshop. Unlike a commercial organisation we work in the interest of the community not for profit and our assets are locked inside the company. Unlike a charity we are able to operate as an enterprise and don't need to have independent trustees. There is a special regulator for Community Interest Companies.
