---------------------------------------------------------------------- Students in this 15 week class are working on properly formatted research papers from a variety of fields. Older students are using official MLA or APA formatting. We are tackling this in cumulative, bite-sized lessons over the semester. We are exploring concepts like summation, intellectual property rights, plagiarism, citation formats, logical flow, research organization skills, definition of terms, drawing conclusions, transitional paragraphs, source exclusion and validation, and artistic expression in non-fiction research writing. And we are doing it all online, learning how to use collaborative online working environments and online research techniques. Students spend an hour a week in class, and up to two hours per week on assignments. Check out the syllabus here.  Hello my name is Petrova Margary Sanctbread, I
live on a farm in Vermont but my dad also owns a farm in Virginia and
we visit their often. I also have a grandmother in Atlantis and my grandpa
lives in Emerald Island. When I'm there I can turn into anything.
On holidays we visit Saturn, Neptune, and Pluto and just between you
and me, Pluto is a planet (ssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...). I can be in five different places at once. I own 3 horses, 1 Hippogriff, a troll, and a dragon. I grew them all
in my garden. My father's name is Santa Claus (I don't know if you have
heard of him before) and my mother is the Queen of Valintise Island. The last thing about me is I can make fire, water, and plants
dance and move in the air. I can evan make a flag move when no one is
holding it, or make Irish shoes dance with no feet in them. I especally
enjoy growing fairys out of my hair and making flower trumpets play
music (but I guess that's not very interesting.) Well hope to see you soon on Pluto(or do you live on earth?) I chose the topic of deer because I love animals and nature, and I thought if i wrote about threatened deer species people might try and help. I also like broad topics and geography. I love writing and researching. I love to read. Read my paper.  Hey I am Alexander, one of the most awesome guys i know. My most favorite thing on earth is video games and Lego robots. I am the only person in class who is not writing a fictitious bio... And like to eat steak sandwiches (the steak part is cut thin and you just put it on a non-stick pan and let it fry... And I just use gluten free baguettes for the bread part.). I also wanna read Travis Q's paper on health care reform, and will probably have dad read it. He is a political stuff ADDICT! I also get distracted easily... Wait is that a squirrel on the fence? Anyways I am talking forever and need to work on my paper... SEE YA! Read my paper on video games. Amasa coming soon!  A self-proclaimed bookworm and aspiring author, Ashley loves everything to do with the written world, except the spell-check on her laptop, which continues to say she means “rein” instead of “reign”. No, spell-checker, she knows exactly what word she wants to use, and that is not it. Thanks anyway. She thinks she has a compulsive disorder that’s makes it impossible for her to leave a bookstore without at least one book, but so far a certain Dr. Gregory House has not returned her phone calls. Slightly addicted to Starbucks’ Mocha Frappicinos, TV shows such as CSI: NY, House and NCIS, and texting (good thing she finally got unlimited texting, right?), Ashley keeps in touch with her friends (some of whom live in other states) using technology (see, I said it was a good thing about that unlimited texting…). About sixty pages into writing her book (which includes assassins, immortal people, New York City, a girl with wings and a demon king) she has decided to participate in a writing competition later this year (not NaNoWriMo, though, because she doesn’t want to have to start from scratch, all though that would be fun. Maybe next year.) Anyway, she also enjoys loud music (not rap, hip hop or anything recorded before she was born), cats (except not her own), and traveling (but not in a car). Her paper is on vampires, of course. Read her paper. Branon I enjoy reading books, playing Runescape, and skateboarding. I also fly around in my spaceship that I bought off e-bay, (you can get ANYTHING there!)blasting evil aliens. I'm also a part cyborg superhero who saves the world twice a week, when I'm not writing at my job at as a plutonium processing plant manager. Oh, and I have 871 pairs of really cool sunglasses. I chose the topic of Medieval armor and weapons because I am obsessed with Medieval stuff. Read my paper. Orion I am Goldrion. I have a fire spitting sword and I can do overheat and cure myself and other people. I chose speculative evolution as the topic for my paper because I think the future will be cool. There will be all sort of new animals. Read my paper.  Hello, I'm Patience. Just anther crazy, spunky, totally not from this planet teenager that can't get enough of the unreal. Fantasy is my name and imagination is my game. Yeah, that one fits just right. My paper is on vampires in literature. Read my paper.  Thirteen years old with a venomous bite. Lived on a boat for three and a half years. Has many dragon friends. Writing about the history of fencing. Read the paper.  Hmmm...a bio? Might just have to stay non-committal here.
