Students in this online class are working on properly formatted
research papers from a variety of fields. Older students are using
official MLA or APA formatting. We are tackling this in cumulative,
bite-sized
lessons over the session. Each participant works at his or her own pace. We are exploring concepts like summation,
intellectual
property rights, plagiarism, citation formats, logical flow, research
organization skills, definition of terms, drawing conclusions,
transitional paragraphs, source exclusion and validation, and artistic
expression in non-fiction research writing. Each week, I'll be reading,
editing, commenting, and personally tailoring non-fiction writing
lessons for every participant. I'll also hold online office hours
where students are encouraged to present specific questions and
challenges. We'll be learning how to use collaborative online working
environments
and digging into online research techniques. This is a homework
intensive class; expect to spend about 3 hours per week researching,
thinking, writing, and editing. You can visit the class website here. Limit 8 participants, by permission of instructor $150 for 15 weeks or 3 installments of $56 PayPay preferred: melina@3676.net |
