Game of the week: Blind Shapes This week we focused on communication and sharing leadership. To do this, the whole group formed different shapes. Blindfolded. While our final shapes were not always perfect, we did get a lot of practice carefully listening to one another, taking turns being the person in charge, and thinking of clever things to do with a piece of rope once the activity was over. For this activity you'll need 4-6 participants, enough blindfolds for all of them, a long length of rope, and some adult supervision. Tie the rope into a loop, using about 2 feet per person. Have everyone hold on to a section of the loop. Blindfold everyone. Instruct them to make a circle, square, rectangle, and triangle. If any one person gets too bossy, they get bitten by the Doodlebug, which causes them to completely lose their voice. Once the group has decided the shape is done, remove the blindfolds and see how well you did. With young kids, let them try making the shapes without the blindfolds, too. Riddle of the week Where do fish keep their money? In a riverbank. Highlight the above line to reveal the answer. |
