I've been a painter all
my life. I have over 20 years experience professionally as a painter. I began painting as a small child. my mother started me on my path by buying those paint by number kits, the oil painting kind. A bit messy for my 5 year old hands. I was always ill when I was little, So when I was laid up in bed sick, I would paint. I attended grover cleveland school of fine arts in oklahoma city, during the 80's [sort of like 'fame!' everybody remembers that '80's movie, right?] After art school I went on to teach myself proficiency in acrylic paints. Then when I was about 17 or 18 I helped my dad paint houses for a while, I Learned alot about professional finishes and industrial painting with my dad. I began working freelance as a faux finisher in chicago, thru out the 90's. Later on I worked as a muralist for 'Scenic View', also in chicago. While collaborating with 'scenic view' we worked for clients such as six flags, playboy, virgin records, geoffrey ballet, and Mc Donalds to name but a few. Finally I decided I should try going to college. My professors asked me "Why are you taking this class, you could teach it!" That was a little dissapointing! I thought college had so much to offer me. Little did I know all along I had obtained jobs that were usually given to college graduates based on the skills I had taught myself!!!
