About Blogging to Make Money Online

Blogging to make money can be quite a fruitful source of income, and is one of the simpler methods of making money online

There are a few ways that blogs can be used to make income, but first let's cover the basics...

Basic Information on Blogging

What is a blog? The word "blog" is short for the full word, "weblog" and stems from it's use of keeping a "log" or a journal online for various purposes. At one time it's main purpose was to keep notes for others to follow for personal or business use, kept in chronological order.

Since they first came into use blogs have stemmed out into many purposes. Some people use them in a similar way to how they might utilize a regular website with sales and services. Others just use them for information on recent occurrences - the possibilities for uses of a blog are practically endless.

Blogging to Make Money - Basic Steps

For internet marketing, many people use a blog as an important element of a whole internet marketing campaign.

It doesn't have to be complicated to make money with a blog - it can be basically as simple as creating blog posts with ads and earning income from the ads when people click them. You can go a step further and earn affiliate income from your blogs when people click on links and purchase items - you make a commission.

Here is a simple outline for blogging to make money using Google's Blogger:

  1. Create an account with Blogger.com: Click Here to Sign up for Your Blogger account. Note: This needs to be the first step, because you will want to have the blog set up before signing up with Adsense. Blogger is what I recommend to use, because it is very simple and also tends to rank highly in the search engines. Just follow the simple instructions to get your blog set up.

  2. If you don't already have an account with Google Adsense you will need one. The steps for signing up for Adsense are very simple - just walk through the steps one at a time. So here is the link:

  3. When you are setting up your blog go to the "layout" section and you will see an option to add a page element. Click that, and up comes a screen with many options to choose from, to add to your page. Adsense is one of them, so select that then walk through the steps of adding an Adsense block to that page element and save it.

  4. Choose a topic to start blogging about - one that you're already familiar with is best, but of course you can write about any topic that you want. (If you choose a topic that is popular, it will likely increase the amount of traffic you receive.) Tip: If the topic you choose is something that you do not yet have much information on, make sure to research it, and make the writing your own.

  5. Promote it! Email your friends, your family, everyone that you know a link to your blog. Now, anytime someone views your blog and clicks on an ad, you make some income from it.

*Note: Deliberately clicking on the ads yourself, or asking others to click on your ads is called "click fraud" and can get you into trouble. This is something that just shouldn't be done.

PS: There is a product available called "Hyper VRE" that has gotten some amazing reviews for making money with AdSense. It's not done necessarily with blogs, but this is something you may want to check out further: Click Here to Find Out About Hyper VRE.

Blogging to Make Money: Take it a Step Further

The instructions above give a very basic way to make money with a blog - however the income on it may not be up to what you are looking for, at least not right away. If you'd like to start making more income with blogs, there are a few more things that you can do.

Sign up as an affiliate to sell products.

There are several good affiliate networks that actively work to bring together advertisers (website owners, with products or services to sell) and affiliates (people who advertise those products/services for commissions). You can sign up with one or all of the following:

  • ClickBank Affiliate Marketing: ClickBank is a good way to start with affiliate products. It's a simple linking system with a huge selection of various types of digital products including eBooks, music and video downloads and more. Signup fee with Clickbank is about $50, but can be made back pretty quickly. A big benefit to affiliate marketing with ClickBank is the commissions - digital products generally reward very large commissions to affiliates.

  • ShareASale Affiliate Marketing: ShareASale has quite a selection of various advertisers, including quite a large number of coupons and freebies types of sites. (These types of programs don't produce much commission per sale, but the potential for large numbers of sales is high.) There are other types of programs as well, and this (like ClickBank) is a good place to start if you're a beginner.

  • LinkShare Affiliate Marketing: LinkShare has many big-name companies to choose from, including WalMart, Sephora Cosmetics, PetSmart, Disney, Chase Bank and more. If you're looking to promote in-store type products and services this is an excellent network. (They recently upgraded their affiliate site to make it very easy to produce any type of links needed to generate sales.) Signing up for LinkShare is free, but I recommend it more for affiliates with some experience under their belt.

Take it to the Limit!

If you now have a blog, are signed up with AdSense and one or more affiliate programs, you will probably make some money, provided you inform people about your new site. However, if you want to bring A LOT of traffic to your blog and expand on your marketing efforts to create an increasing source of revenue, there are a few recommendations that I have for you:

  • #1 Recommendation - Wealthy Affiliate Internet Marketing University: The cost on this is about $30.00 per month - for me it has paid for itself many many times over. Wealthy Affiliate is not just a system to make money. In fact, I wouldn't use the word "system" to describe it adequately. It is - as it says - a University that trains normal, everyday people to make a very nice living online by marketing other people's products. It also gives the tools to do it, and are some of the best tools I've seen available.

  • #2 Recommendation - Keyword Elite: Keywords (words that people type into Google or another search engine) are important to know about in order to gain high natural ranking in search engines or to use with many other types of marketing.

In terms of blogging, this tool can help tremendously in learning about what the specific titles of blog posts should be, what words should be contained throughout the posts, and can lead you into many other types of marketing online which can start you on your way to quite a large income working online. I've heard some rave reviews about this tool - in fact in the many times I've heard mention of it I've never seen a negative comment from professional marketers online.

The cost on this product is about $167.00 and if used well (per the instructions on how to use it), it can easily generate much more than that price and would be considered a good investment.

  • #3 Recommendation - SEO Elite: The reports about the SEO Elite product have some real rave reviews. The product is a software that can optimize any site for search engines, getting them naturally high search engine rankings. This product is created by Brad Callen, the same person who created Keyword Elite.
